REsources: CLINICS
Looking for a clinic?
Below is how I started my egg freezing cycle and chose a clinic:
Word of mouth
- ask friends, friends of friends, your doctor, your gynaecologist.
This gave me a list of 3 clinics.
HFEA website
(Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority) - Has birth rates, ratings and other statistics for many clinics.
Doctify
- Verified feedback for clinics and specific consultants
Visit clinic's website and sign up to free webinars, and any free initial consultations on offer.
Questions I asked at the initial consultation:
Can I take my ORT results to other clinics?
What happens to my eggs if clinic goes bust?
7 days a week service? i.e. egg collection is when needed not when convenient for clinic.
What are next steps after consultation?
Do you support SMBCs?
What differentiates your clinic from other clinics?
Given my medical history (give brief overview), is there anything in particular I need to consider?
Do I need to take time off work during the process?
Births per egg collection rate for clinic?
Are consultations and follow-ups in person or over the phone?
How early in advance do we need to set a date to start the process?
What do you do to help prevent OHSS?
Do you provide support/counselling during and/or after treatment?
If I opt for a multi-cycle package, but decide to do only 1 cycle, what is the refund policy?
