- £240: Ovarian reserve test (ORT) - includes ultrasound scan and blood test (AMH and FSH levels), and face to face chat with a consultant of my choice.
I originally started at CRGH, and had my tests there. But moved to Guy's Hospital as I preferred a personalised approach. I had direct access to my consultant, including texting whenever I had questions (e.g. am I doing it right?! Please watch this video of me injecting myself).
- £300: Initial 60 min face-to-face consultation at Guy's hospital with a consultant of my choice.
- £3,900: One egg freezing cycle, including scans, blood tests (virology and hormones), anaesthetic fees, egg collection, egg freeze, 12 months storage, and direct contact with 1 consultant (I went for this slightly more expensive personalised care option).
- £900: Medication for one egg freezing cycle: About 10 days of injections: Gonal, Fyremadel, Buserelin, syringes, needles; disposal box, delivery fee
Plan to do another 1 or 2 cycles, so I've budgeted £15,000 in total. I shouldn't need an another initial consultation if my future cycles are done within 6 months.
Really happy with my experience at Guy's Hospital. Even when I was really worried about bloating post procedure, my consultant reassured me and saw me last minute to reassure me. :)
